I generally start the day (very early) by eliminating the things that will absolutely disrupt me later e.g. emails, slack messages, follow ups etc. this helps me ensure that I’m not blocking anyone and usually gives me a good window of time in the morning to focus before teams “catch up”.
I know I’m most productive and clear headed early so I save this time for the most important things. When I get to a stopping point I usually take on a few smaller items until I feel mentally ready for another heavy focus session.
During these sessions I clear extra browser tabs and set up a digital workspace for this specific task or project.
